Are you an experienced social worker looking to take the next step in your career? Barnsley Council is seeking an Advanced Practitioner - Assessment & Duty to join our dynamic and dedicated team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality assessments and safeguarding practices within our community, helping to make a real difference in the lives of children and families.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

Leading and overseeing the assessment and duty team to ensure effective and timely responses to safeguarding concerns. Conducting thorough assessments and developing intervention plans in collaboration with families and partner agencies. Providing expert guidance and support to social work colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional development. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards in all aspects of your work. Engaging with families and stakeholders to promote positive outcomes and holistic support.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant post-qualification experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and safeguarding. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively.
