We are seeking an Assessment & Safeguarding Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Darlington. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing care plans, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and their families. Your expertise will help to identify risks and provide tailored support to those in need.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to determine their needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective safeguarding plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Engaging with families to provide support, guidance, and intervention where necessary. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony when required.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child protection policies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with families.
