Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals? Barking & Dagenham Council is seeking a qualified SSW/SP-Homelessness Specialist to join our Assessment Team. As a Homelessness Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of individuals and families facing homelessness, identifying their needs and risks. Developing tailored support plans and working collaboratively with clients to achieve sustainable housing solutions. Building strong relationships with external agencies, housing providers, and community organizations to facilitate access to services. Providing ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the assessment and placement process. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local policies and legislation.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW). Registered with Social Work England. Proven experience in homelessness assessments and knowledge of relevant legislation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with clients. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
