Join Barnet's dedicated Fostering Team as a Senior Social Worker and make a significant impact in the lives of children and families. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to provide high-quality support and guidance to foster carers and children in care, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. Your expertise will help shape the fostering service, promoting best practices and driving improvements in service delivery.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers and preparing detailed reports. Providing ongoing supervision and support to foster families, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs. Conducting training sessions for foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Participating in court proceedings and representing the best interests of children in care.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a relevant social work field, with a focus on fostering or child protection. Strong assessment skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
