Join Barnet's dedicated Kinship Care Team as a Senior Social Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. In this pivotal role, you will lead and support the delivery of high-quality social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children placed in kinship care arrangements. You will work collaboratively with families, external agencies, and local communities to promote positive outcomes for children and their caregivers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of kinship care placements and developing tailored support plans. Providing supervision and guidance to junior social workers and support staff, fostering professional development and best practices. Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and local policies. Building strong relationships with families, advocating for their needs, and facilitating access to resources and support services. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of strategic initiatives to enhance kinship care services.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children’s social work, particularly within kinship care or family support settings. Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
