We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Children In Care Team in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring that children in care receive the highest standard of support and protection. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead a team of social workers, providing guidance and expertise while managing complex cases that require a nuanced understanding of child welfare and safeguarding.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and supervising a team of social workers, ensuring effective case management and compliance with statutory requirements. Conducting assessments and developing care plans tailored to the needs of children and families. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to deliver comprehensive support services. Providing training and mentorship to junior staff, promoting best practices in social work. Handling escalated cases and providing expert advice on complex issues related to child welfare.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in child protection and children in care settings. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
