Are you a passionate and experienced social worker looking to make a significant impact in the lives of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC)? Join our dedicated UASC Team in Birmingham as a Senior Practitioner and help us provide high-quality care and support to vulnerable young people. In this role, you will lead a team of social workers, ensuring that the needs of our UASC clients are met with compassion and professionalism.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing expert guidance and supervision to junior staff members, fostering their professional development. Conducting thorough assessments of the needs and risks of UASC clients, developing tailored care plans. Collaborating with external agencies, including health, education, and legal services, to ensure comprehensive support for our clients. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategic planning for service improvements.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years' experience working with children and families, preferably within a UASC context. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures regarding child protection and asylum processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
