Are you an experienced social work professional with a passion for supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC)? We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager to lead our UASC Team in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring that vulnerable young individuals receive the care, support, and advocacy they need during a critical period in their lives. As the Team Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the UASC Team, ensuring that all statutory responsibilities are met and that services are delivered to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing a team of social workers and support staff, providing supervision and guidance. Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the needs of UASC, ensuring compliance with local and national policies. Collaborating with external agencies, stakeholders, and community resources to enhance service delivery. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments. Providing training and professional development opportunities for team members to foster growth and best practices.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and working with unaccompanied minors. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
