Join our dedicated team at CAFCASS as a Family Court Advisor (FCA) in the Public and Private Law Team, based in Chelmsford. This role covers the vibrant areas of Essex, Southend, and Thurrock, where you will play a crucial role in supporting children and families involved in family court proceedings. As an FCA, you will provide expert advice, undertake assessments, and represent the best interests of children, ensuring their voices are heard in legal matters.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to inform court decisions. Preparing detailed reports for family court hearings that highlight the needs and wishes of children. Providing professional advice to the court on safeguarding matters. Building effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals. Participating in court proceedings and advocating for the best interests of children.To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and family law. Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
