Are you an experienced social worker looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families? Cardiff Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Principal Social Worker to join our Court Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of skilled social workers, providing expert guidance and support while ensuring that the best interests of children are at the forefront of all decisions. You will play a critical role in court proceedings and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and supervising a team of social workers, providing mentorship and professional development. Conducting assessments and preparing reports for court, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Collaborating with legal professionals, agencies, and stakeholders to advocate for children and families. Developing and implementing practice standards to enhance service delivery and outcomes. Participating in case reviews and contributing to strategic planning within the department.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Care Wales. A minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in social work, with significant experience in court work. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
