Leeds City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children Looked After Team Manager to lead our dynamic team within the Qualified Social Work field. This pivotal role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality services to children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. As the Children Looked After Team Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing a team of social workers and support staff, providing guidance and support to promote best practices. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local policies while maintaining high standards of practice. Collaborating with external agencies, stakeholders, and families to create effective care plans tailored to the individual needs of children. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the team, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance service delivery. Participating in management meetings and contributing to strategic planning for the Children Looked After service.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualifying experience in social work, particularly with children in care. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
