Join our dedicated Children's Assessment and Planning (AP) - Child in Care (CIC) Team in Gateshead, where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. We are seeking a passionate and qualified social worker who is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. In this role, you will assess the needs of children in care, develop and implement care plans, and work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure positive outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing, reviewing, and implementing Individual Care Plans in line with legislation and best practices. Building strong relationships with children, families, and external agencies to promote effective service delivery. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to decision-making processes regarding children's welfare.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and planning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children and families effectively. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare.
