Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? Stoke on Trent is seeking a qualified Children’s Assistant Practitioner to join our Corporate Parenting Team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. If you are committed to providing high-quality care and support, we want to hear from you!

As a Children’s AP, your key responsibilities will include:

Assisting social workers in conducting assessments and developing care plans for children in need. Building and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, and other professionals. Providing direct support to children and young people, helping them to access services and opportunities. Contributing to multi-agency meetings and case reviews to advocate for the best interests of children. Documenting case notes and maintaining accurate records in compliance with local policies and procedures.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW). Experience working with children and families in a social work setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and across agencies.
