Join our dedicated Adolescent Safeguarding Team in Lewisham as a Children's GM, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of young people in our community. In this challenging and rewarding position, you will lead a team of social workers and practitioners, providing guidance and support in safeguarding practices, assessments, and interventions tailored to the unique needs of adolescents.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the development and implementation of safeguarding plans for adolescents at risk. Conducting complex assessments and managing high-risk cases, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to create a cohesive approach to safeguarding. Providing supervision and support to social work staff, fostering professional development and best practices. Engaging with families and young people to promote their voices and participation in the safeguarding process.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly within safeguarding settings. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
