Cheshire West and Chester is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team within the Qualified Social Work field. This vital role will involve ensuring that the voices and needs of children in care are at the forefront of our service delivery. You will be responsible for leading and conducting independent reviews of care plans, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while promoting best practices in children's welfare.

Key responsibilities will include:

Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children in care, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to develop effective care strategies. Providing expert advice and support to children and young people, empowering them to participate in their reviews. Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided, making recommendations for improvements where necessary. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local and national standards.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in child protection and care planning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures governing children's services.
