Lambeth is seeking a qualified Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our Children in Need (CIN) Team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that children in care receive the support and services they need to thrive, while promoting their rights and well-being.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children in need, ensuring their voices are heard and considered. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of care arrangements. Providing guidance and support to social workers, families, and other stakeholders throughout the review process. Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise during the review process.To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly within child protection or care settings. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency environment.
