We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's IRO Conference Chair to join our team within the Qualified Social Work field. This pivotal role involves leading Independent Review Officer (IRO) conferences, ensuring that the voice of the child is at the forefront of all decision-making processes. As the Conference Chair, you will work collaboratively with social workers, families, and other stakeholders to promote the welfare and best interests of children in care.
Key responsibilities include:
Facilitating IRO conferences, ensuring a child-centered approach is maintained. Reviewing care plans and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Building effective relationships with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and promote positive outcomes. Providing guidance and support to social workers, ensuring they have the necessary tools to advocate for children. Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided to children in care, making recommendations for improvements.Essential qualifications and skills for this role include:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and working within the looked-after children sector. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
