We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in Leeds. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people in care have their voices heard, their rights upheld, and their needs met. You will be responsible for chairing statutory reviews, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice, and working collaboratively with children, families, and professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Chairing Looked After Children reviews and ensuring that the views of children and young people are central to the process. Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations to improve outcomes for children. Building strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Providing advice, guidance, and support to social workers and other professionals involved in the care of children. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local policies, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice in children's social care. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
