We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in North Yorkshire. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and that their needs are met within the care system. Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Ensuring that the views and wishes of children and young people are central to the review process. Monitoring the implementation of care plans and advocating for necessary changes. Working closely with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Providing guidance and support to children and families, helping them navigate the care system.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience working with children and families, particularly within the child protection and looked-after children sectors. Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
