Join our dedicated team in Nottingham as a Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO). In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and that their rights and needs are prioritized in the care planning process. You will facilitate regular reviews of care plans, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting the best outcomes for children in care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting child-centered reviews and meetings, ensuring active participation from children, families, and relevant professionals. Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to the child's welfare. Providing guidance and support to children and young people about their rights and entitlements. Maintaining accurate records and reports in accordance with local authority policies and procedures.The ideal candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have substantial experience in children's social work, particularly in a reviewing or managerial capacity. Essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, a commitment to child-centered practice, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a multi-agency framework.
