Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Plymouth City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and their best interests are at the forefront of decision-making processes.

As a Children's IRO, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting the welfare of children. Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather feedback and assess needs. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvement. Providing expert advice and support to social workers and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

Qualified Social Worker status with a recognized degree in Social Work. Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
