Join our dedicated team in Swindon as a Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children in care have their voices heard and their needs met. You will be responsible for chairing reviews of children’s care plans, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and promoting the best interests of children and young people.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Chairing statutory reviews for children in care, ensuring participation from all relevant stakeholders. Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and advocating for the rights and needs of children. Building strong relationships with children, families, and professionals to facilitate effective communication. Preparing detailed reports and documentation for review meetings. Providing guidance and support to social workers and other professionals involved in the care of children.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly with children in care. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
