We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Wrexham. In this vital role, you will ensure that the voices of children and young people are heard and respected throughout the care process. As an IRO, you will facilitate independent reviews of care plans, ensuring that they are child-centered, timely, and in the best interest of the children involved.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children in care, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Advocating for children's rights and ensuring their views are considered in decision-making processes. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for children. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making necessary recommendations. Providing support and guidance to children and young people during the review process.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Care Wales. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in child protection and looked-after children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
