We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Senior Practitioner to join our Help & Protection Team in Birmingham. This pivotal role requires a skilled social worker with a passion for safeguarding children and supporting families in need. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead and mentor a team of social workers, ensuring that the highest standards of practice are maintained while driving positive outcomes for children and their families.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of complex cases involving children at risk of harm, ensuring timely and effective interventions. Providing supervision and support to social work staff, facilitating regular team meetings and reflective practice sessions. Conducting assessments and developing child protection plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners. Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures while promoting best practice within the team. Engaging with children and families to gather insights and feedback, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly within a Help & Protection setting. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
