Join our dedicated Fostering Team in Walsall as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for assessing and supporting foster placements, ensuring that children receive the care and stability they need to thrive. Your expertise will guide families through the fostering process, providing the necessary training and support to foster carers, while also collaborating with various stakeholders to promote the best interests of the children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of prospective foster carers and their suitability for fostering. Developing and implementing support plans tailored to the needs of children in foster care. Regularly reviewing and monitoring foster placements to ensure the wellbeing of children. Working closely with schools, health professionals, and other agencies to deliver holistic support. Participating in fostering panels and contributing to decision-making processes.To be successful in this role, you will need to possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly within fostering or adoption services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and professionals.
