We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker (SSW) to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Lewisham. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people in care. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring they receive the support and services they need to thrive.

As a Children's Social Worker in the LAC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments of children's needs and developing care plans in partnership with families and relevant agencies. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies. Working collaboratively with foster carers, schools, and health services to ensure a holistic approach to care. Providing support and guidance to children and families, empowering them to make informed decisions. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of service improvements.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly within a looked after children context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and their families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
