The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker (SSW) to join our Looked After Children (LAC) and Children in Need (CIN) Team. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective care plans for children in care and those in need. Working collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners to ensure the best outcomes for children. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements. Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony as required. Offering support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families to enhance the care experience for children.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly in a LAC or CIN setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
