Join our dedicated Children's Social Work team in Wigan, where you will play a vital role in supporting children with complex needs and their families. As a Qualified Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities (CWD) / Duty / Locality Team, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children. Your expertise will help ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive in a nurturing environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing tailored care plans that promote the well-being and development of children. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to coordinate services and interventions effectively. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation in line with statutory requirements. Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to resources and services.To be considered for this role, you must hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Key skills and qualifications include:
Proven experience in children's social work, particularly with children who have disabilities. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding policies.
