Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Wigan Council is seeking a qualified Children's Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring their needs are met in a supportive and nurturing environment.
As a Children's Social Worker in the Duty & Assessment Team, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting initial assessments and investigations to determine the needs of children and families. Working collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care plans. Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with local and national policies. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding discussions.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA in Social Work, MA in Social Work, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
