Join our dedicated team in Lewisham as a Children’s Social Worker within the Family Support/Safeguarding Team, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and families in our community. We are seeking passionate and skilled individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to provide support and interventions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing tailored care plans that promote the safety and welfare of children. Providing direct support to families, offering guidance and practical assistance. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony as required.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding and family support. Strong assessment and analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with families. Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively and work under pressure.
