Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? The Durham County Council is seeking a qualified Children's Social Worker to join our Harm Outside the Home Team. In this rewarding role, you will work collaboratively with families, professionals, and community partners to safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are at risk of harm outside their homes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with families. Providing direct support and interventions to children and their families. Collaborating with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure a multi-agency approach to safeguarding. Maintaining accurate and timely records in compliance with local policies and legislation. Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to enhance practice and professional development.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a social work setting. Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload.
