Central Bedfordshire is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team. In this rewarding role, you will be instrumental in supporting vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. You will work collaboratively with families, foster carers, and multi-agency partners to create effective care plans that promote positive outcomes for our children in care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assessing the needs of looked after children and their families, developing comprehensive care plans. Conducting regular reviews and monitoring the progress of children in care. Providing emotional and practical support to children, families, and foster carers. Advocating for the rights and best interests of children, ensuring their voices are heard. Maintaining accurate and timely records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognised social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children in care or within the child protection field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
