The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Looked After Children (LAC) and Leaving Care Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people in our community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services that promote the welfare and development of children in care and those transitioning to independence.
Key responsibilities include:
Assessing the needs of children and young people in care and developing appropriate care plans. Working collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to ensure effective service delivery. Conducting regular reviews of care plans and ensuring they are updated in accordance with changing needs. Providing support and guidance to young people leaving care, helping them to develop essential life skills. Advocating for the rights and needs of children and young people in care, ensuring their voices are heard.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly within LAC and leaving care contexts. Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.Additional requirements include a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, as well as the ability to work flexibly and manage a caseload effectively.
