Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people? Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s TM - UASC/Leaving Care Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) and young people transitioning out of care, ensuring they receive the guidance and support necessary for a successful future.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with children and young people in your care. Conducting assessments and creating tailored care plans that meet the individual needs of each young person. Working collaboratively with a range of professionals, including health, education, and housing services, to provide holistic support. Advocating for the rights and needs of UASC and care leavers, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of young people, adapting plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and young people, particularly in a leaving care or UASC context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
