Join our dedicated team in Darlington as a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) in the Fostering Team, where you will play a pivotal role in improving the lives of children and young people in foster care. As a QSW, you will be responsible for assessing, supporting, and supervising foster families, ensuring that they provide safe and nurturing environments for children. Your expertise will help in developing and implementing care plans tailored to the unique needs of each child, while also collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of prospective foster carers and providing ongoing support and training. Working closely with children in care, understanding their needs, and advocating for their best interests. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports, adhering to local authority policies and procedures. Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to care and support. Providing guidance and support to foster families, helping them navigate challenges and celebrate successes.The ideal candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have a solid understanding of fostering legislation and child protection protocols, along with proven experience in a social work setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team and manage your own caseload.
