We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Officer (LADO) to join our team in Wolverhampton. As a Designated Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding children and promoting their welfare by overseeing and managing allegations against professionals working with children.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Receive and manage allegations or concerns about adults who work with children Provide advice and guidance to employers and other professionals on managing allegations Coordinate and oversee the investigation process, ensuring it is conducted in a fair and timely manner Work collaboratively with relevant agencies and partners to safeguard children and support those involved in allegations Keep accurate records and ensure all actions are in line with statutory guidance and policiesEssential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in child protection and safeguarding Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice in child protection Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of professionals and agencies Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and prioritize workload effectively Excellent record-keeping and report-writing skillsAdditional requirements or benefits:
