We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Individual Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Durham within the Qualified Social Work field. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and protection of vulnerable children and young people by reviewing and monitoring their care plans and placements.

Key responsibilities and duties:

Conducting regular reviews of care plans to assess their effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements. Attending meetings with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to gather information and provide guidance on best practices. Advocating for the rights and needs of children and young people in care to ensure they receive appropriate support and services. Providing independent oversight and challenge to decision-making processes to safeguard the well-being of those under your care.

Essential qualifications and skills:

Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England. Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a local authority setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders effectively. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.

Additional requirements:

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethical practices in social work. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to child protection and safeguarding.
