Join our dedicated team as a Fostering Supervising Social Worker in Wakefield, where you will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing the lives of children and families. As a pivotal member of our fostering service, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, assessment, and supervision of foster carers, ensuring that every child placed in care receives the highest standard of support and guidance. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of care plans and the overall well-being of children in foster placements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of potential foster carers and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Providing ongoing supervision and support to foster families, including regular visits and training sessions. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create tailored care plans for children in foster care. Monitoring and reviewing placements to ensure the safety and welfare of children. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have substantial experience in fostering or child protection, along with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in the field. Essential skills include excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strong organizational skills, and a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable children and families.
