We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Kinship Team in Gateshead. This role is vital in providing support and guidance to kinship carers and their families, ensuring the well-being and safety of children in their care. As a QSW, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and other professionals, to deliver high-quality social work services that promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of kinship families to evaluate their suitability and capacity to care for children. Developing and implementing support plans tailored to the unique needs of children and their carers. Providing ongoing support and supervision to kinship carers, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and training. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of services. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local authority policies and procedures.To be considered for this position, you must hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include:
Strong assessment and analytical skills to identify the needs of children and families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups. Experience in working within a kinship care context or similar social work settings.
