Join our dedicated team in Wirral as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) specializing in Looked After Children (LAC) Safeguarding. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that the needs and welfare of children in care are prioritized and met through effective reviews and assessments. Your expertise will help shape and influence the care plans and safeguarding strategies for vulnerable children, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting regular reviews of care plans for Looked After Children, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other stakeholders to promote the best outcomes for children. Facilitating meetings and consultations with children and families to gather insights and feedback. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements. Providing expert advice and support to the local authority on safeguarding practices and policy development.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, particularly within the LAC framework. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
