Nottingham City is seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the care plans for children and young people are effectively monitored and reviewed, promoting their welfare and best interests. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of our services, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and fostering positive outcomes for children in care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting independent reviews of care plans and ensuring that they reflect the needs and aspirations of children and young people. Collaborating with social workers, families, and other stakeholders to gather insights and feedback during the review process. Providing clear, concise reports and recommendations to inform decision-making and drive improvements in service delivery. Monitoring the implementation of recommendations and ensuring that actions are completed in a timely manner. Participating in training and development initiatives to enhance your skills and knowledge in child welfare and safeguarding.To be considered for this position, you must possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and working with children in care. Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
