The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children & Families team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable children, assessing their needs, and providing support to families to ensure their well-being and stability.

Key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans for children and families. Leading on complex case management, ensuring high-quality interventions and support are delivered. Collaborating with multi-agency teams, including health, education, and voluntary services, to provide holistic care. Providing supervision and mentoring to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local and national standards.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in children and families social work. Strong knowledge of legislation and best practices related to child protection and welfare. Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
