Join our dedicated team in Bournemouth as a Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and play a vital role in ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people in care. As an IRO, you will be responsible for overseeing the care planning process, ensuring that the rights and needs of children are prioritized. You will facilitate reviews, engage with children and families, and work collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote the welfare of those in your care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting regular reviews of care plans and ensuring that they meet the needs of children and young people. Providing a child-centered approach, advocating for the rights and views of children during meetings. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and planning. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with local authority policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in a statutory setting. Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
