Join our dedicated Children’s Social Work - Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Somerset, where you will play a vital role in improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing interventions that support children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. Your expertise will help foster positive relationships with children, families, and other professionals to create a stable and nurturing environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other stakeholders. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of children in care, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after children context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
