We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work – Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care while promoting their development and stability.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings and working collaboratively with partner organizations. Providing support, guidance, and advocacy for children and young people in care.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW). Current Social Work England registration. Experience working with children and families, particularly within the looked after children framework. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and manage a complex caseload.
