Essex County Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Children in Care (CIC) and Looked After Children (LAC) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social work professional who is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and their families. Key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families. Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to care. Advocating for the rights and best interests of children in care.To be considered for this role, you must hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of child protection legislation and policies. Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting will be highly advantageous.
