We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Manager - Assessment & Safeguarding to join our dynamic team in Darlington. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader who can drive high-quality social work practice, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals and families. You will be responsible for overseeing the assessment and safeguarding processes, leading a team of qualified social workers, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver effective support services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing a team of social workers, providing guidance and support to ensure best practices in assessment and safeguarding. Overseeing the development, implementation, and review of safeguarding plans and assessments. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to maintain high standards of service delivery. Building strong relationships with external agencies and stakeholders to promote collaborative working. Conducting regular supervision and performance appraisals of team members, fostering their professional development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in social work, particularly in assessment and safeguarding. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively.
