We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Intake Unit (UASC) in Dover. This exciting role offers a competitive rate of £38 per hour (umbrella) and provides an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of vulnerable young individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being while facilitating their integration into the community.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting initial assessments to identify the needs and risks of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners. Providing support and guidance to children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements. Participating in regular team meetings and case discussions to ensure effective service delivery.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience working with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children or within a similar context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Proficient in assessment and intervention planning, with a sound understanding of safeguarding practices.
