Cheshire East is seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team on a temporary basis, offering a competitive rate of £40 per hour. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people in the care system receive the support and protection they need. Your expertise will help to facilitate effective reviews and ensure that care plans are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.

Key responsibilities will include:

Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Engaging with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding standards. Preparing reports and documentation to support review meetings. Advocating for the best interests of children and young people throughout the review process.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection or children in care settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
