West Berkshire is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Service Manager to lead our SEND Assessment Team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the assessment and support of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring that every child receives the tailored services they deserve. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering collaboration among families, educational institutions, and health services to create a cohesive support network for our children.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and supervising the SEND Assessment Team, providing guidance and support to team members. Overseeing the assessment process for children with SEND, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Developing and implementing policies and procedures that enhance service delivery. Engaging with parents, schools, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each child's needs. Monitoring and evaluating service effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A relevant degree in Social Work, Education, or a related field. Significant experience in children's services, particularly within SEND. Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of effectively leading teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
