Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic Child Protection Team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Managing a caseload of complex cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students. Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
